SUZUKI™ Method in South Africa - MUZUKIDZ

28th March 2022

On Saturday 2 April, a big milestone in the evolution of Muzukidz will be reached when nearly 60 learners in the Muzukidz Gqeberha programme will share the stage with 18 of our advanced Muzukidz Cape Town learners.

With a Gala Concert taking place at the Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha, the audience will be treated to a very special showcase of the Muzukidz journey and the learners will have their first experience of all performing together in a real, big concert hall. The performance will be filmed and we look forward to sharing the video with you in due course.

This year also marks the last primary school-year for a number of learners in the Cape Town programme. Next year, they will embark on their high school-years and we are excited to watch them further develop as formidable young individuals. We also take pride in their achievements over the recent months.

All senior learners have now been placed in string orchestras of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra's Music Academy - be it in the Junior, Intermediate or Senior Orchestra, paving the way for some to be selected for the prestigious Cape Philharmonic Orchestra Youth Orchestra in time to come. We also take great pride in one of our learners already being awarded a music scholarship at a top school in Cape Town from next year onwards - a true validation of the role that Muzukidz plays in the lives of the our learners and proof that playing the Violin is opening doors which would otherwise simply stay shut for them.
