By ESA Administrator

16th April 2018

The first of the Region's Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE) Teacher Trainer was appointed today.

Patricia Rüttimann, Violin Teacher Switzerland,  studied with SECE Founder Dorothy Jones of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and was one of the first people to introduce SECE to a wider public within the ESA region.

In 2012, Patricia hosted the first SECE Teacher Training Course in Switzerland with Dorothy Jones, with additional courses in 2014 and 2015.

In 2016 and 2017, further courses were held in Switzerland where Patricia worked with Anke van der Bijl, Chairperson of the SECE Subcommittee and ESA Flute Teacher Trainer, as part of her Instructorship.  Anke taught Suzuki Philosophy whilst Patricia taught the the practical elements of teaching SECE.

Patricia also works on the SECE Development Committee and her practical experience was invaluable in adapting the SECE Syllabus to bring it in line with the Instrument Syllabus in the ESA Teacher Training Manual and producing ESA Guidelines for the adaptation of the SECE Curriculum in different languages across the Region.
