  • Professional training for Suzuki™ Violin Teachers

    Roberto Sarno, approved ESA Teacher Trainer holds professional Suzuki™
    training courses from level 1 to 5 in Skanderborg, Denmark.

    Requirements for enrolling are:
    1 - Conservatory degree or equivalent
    2 - Membership to the Suzuki™ association of the country of residence
    3 - Audition: online audition or video of one or more among the pieces required for the level in question is mandatory.

    The course runs from September 2025 and May 2026 in 6 to 10 weekends depending on the level and the amount of hours required.  According to ESA guidelines half of the total hours can be held online and half in physical presence.

    During the course, the trainees will receive coaching in philosophy, pedagogy, business management and career advice, supervised lessons but particularly in how to administer the various teaching points in the repertoire, according to Dr. Schinichi Suzuki’s instructions.

    At the end there will be an examination where, upon a pass, a certificate will be issued by ESA.


    The price is 7000-DKK (danish crowns) or 940€ plus an examination fee of
    1500DKK (200€), that could be reduced depending on the number of trainees.

    It will be at the Teacher Trainer’s discretion to establish that a trainee is ready
    for the course or the exam.

    Roberto Sarno was born in Bari, Italy, where he completed his studies in violin solo performance, chamber music and orchestra player.  He has studied privately in Israel, USA and Austria and has attended professional courses in Italy, Austria, Spain, Holland and Germany.  Mr. Sarno has a very rich background as a performer, having been on stage as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra player covering all roles for over 40 years.  In 1995 he came in touch with the Suzuki Method™ and received his first training in 2002 from Edward Kreitman in USA.  He completed his training and had as mentor Jan Matthiesen in Denmark, enjoying working with him for over ten years.

    Mr. Sarno is a fully authorised ESA Teacher Trainer and is deeply committed to the talent development of children as well as teacher training.  His teaching experience spans over three decades.
