Suzuki by the Sea CROATIAThe National Suzuki Workshop for Croatia was held in Selce, in the northern part of the Croatian coast, from 22 to 29 August 2011.

The Workshop was held in an Elementary School where lessons were given to both student children and teacher trainees by a faculty invited from all over Europe - Jeanne Janssens from Belgium, Susan Johnson from The Netherlands, and Veronika Kimiti from Germany. Jeanne Janssens was also the overall Director of the Workshop and Teacher Training. Peter Nys from Belgium was Director of the Children's Workshop.
Teacher Training Examinations took place on the final day of the Workshop. All trainees passed and were awared the European Suzuk Association Teacher Examination Certificate -
Nives Simunic, from Croatia achieved Level 1
Damas Lazic from Croatia achieved Level 1
Aleksadra Dimitrievska from Macedonia achieved Level 3
Danijel Zeljak from Germany achieved Level 3
The Workshop ended with a final concert which took place on a terrace overlooking the sea.
The National Suzuki Assocaition of Croatia would like to thank the European Suzuki Teachers' Development Trust for the generous bursary which was awared to enable the Workshop to take place.
Besides being a hugely enjoyable and successful Workshop, Selce turned out to be a fantastic warm-up for the new school year for children and teacher alike.

What does not exist in the environment will not develop in the child. By no means only words or music, but everything, good or bad, is absorbed by the child.
