 About The ESA

The European Suzuki Association Limited (ESA)  was established in 1980 to: 'further Dr Shinichi Suzuki's approach to education in Europe.'

ESA is a company limited by guarantee, registered in the UK. Its Directors represent all its member countries See list of Board members below

The European Suzuki Association is the umbrella organisation for national Suzuki Associations in Europe, and also for the time being for Suzuki associations in Africa and the Middle East.

The ESA has been granted the sole rights to the Suzuki name in those areas by the International Suzuki Association, who is the owner of the copyright. Only qualified teachers who belong to ESA member associations have the legal right to call themselves 'Suzuki teachers'.

At present there are twenty-one national associations who are full members of the ESA. To be a full member a national association must have a constitution approved by the ESA, sign a 'name agreement sub-licence' with the ESA , and have an approved teacher training programme. Associations which fulfil all other criteria but do not yet have a teacher training programme may become associate members of ESA. At present there is one associate member, which is Greece.

Prospective new associations and interested individuals in areas without a national association are invited to contact the ESA office.

The European Suzuki Association is one of the regional associations belonging to the International Suzuki Association. For details of other regional associations, please click on Links
