Suzuki Violin students meet Dai Kimoto and the Swing Kids SWITZERLAND

Stadtcasino, Basel

Dai Kimoto

& The Swing Kids

In the winter of 2002, Japanese musician and music teacher Dai Kimoto started a band with 13 kids in a small town in Switzerland. Any child who wanted to join the band, could do so. In the beginning, they made more noise than they did music. Soon after, Dai Kimoto sensed something in the children which he believed could turn masterful. Month to month, year to year they continued to make progress. The children discovered the joy of music and wanted to share it with the world.

In autumn of 2005, they set off for their first tour in Japan. They performed eleven concerts in six cities in two weeks, to a huge success. Japanese audiences were shocked to hear and view such a wonderful band of kids performing at abnormally high levels. They played uplifting swing Jazz music.

The Swing Kids have an unbelievable energy and a sheer joy for life. Their performances bring smiles to all who see and hear them. The Swing Kids received the title « The Ambassadors of Swing Music » from the Big Band Hall of Fame in Florida, USA.

Dai Kimoto & The Swing Kids are much in demand in Switzerland. They continue to appear on National TV shows and perform more than 60 concerts globally per year. They are truly inspiration for both the young and old.
