Full Country Membership
Full Country Membership of the European Suzuki Association (ESA) is given to those National Suzuki Associations who have their own Teacher Training programmes. All Teacher Training programmes are required to follow the guidelines of the ESA as set out in the Teacher Training and Examination Manual and may be directed and taught by Teacher Trainers from other National Associations.
Full Country Members have the right to nominate a Director to the Board of the ESA.

Associate Country Membership
Associate Country Membership is offered to new National Suzuki Associations who have fulfilled all requirements set out by the ESA but which do not yet have an established Teacher Training programme.
Associate Country Members are invited to send a Representative to the Board Meeting each year.
Country Membership Fees
Membership fees are set each year by the ESA Board of Directors. The cost of membership is the same for Full and Associate Country Members.
Country Members/National Suzuki Associations pay an annual subscription made up of –
• €735 Country fee
• €30 for every qualified Suzuki Teacher Member - A, B1 and B2 members
No subscription is due to the ESA for B3 or C members.
These are the subscriptions rates for Country Membership of the ESA.
Each Country/National Suzuki Association is free to apply its own fee structure to its own members.
Reduced payments for Countries with low GNI (Gross National Income)
The ESA offer a scheme whereby countries with weaker economies, lower salaries and exchange rates are asked to pay only a weighted amount of membership costs.
The calculation is based on the World Bank’s GNI PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) index, updated annually.
In practice this means that some countries only pay 40 - 60% of the fees due.
Reduced payments for new Country Members
A sliding scale of membership fees is applied to New National Suzuki Associations to assist early growth.

During this period the National Suzuki Association is expected to collect membership and build up their own organisation, collect membership fees and establish a Teacher Training Programme.
Year 3 20% of the full membership fees due
Year 4 50% of the full membership fees due
Year 5 onwards 100% of the full membership fees due
Individual Affiliate Membership
Most members of the ESA belong through membership of their own National Suzuki Association.
All teachers, Suzuki parents, educators and other interested people who wish to become members of the ESA should contact the National Suzuki Association in the country where they live for information about membership.
Membership of a National Suzuki Association automatically gives Individual Affiliate Membership of the ESA and the International Suzuki Association (ISA).
The ISA is the owner of the Suzuki Name and Trademark.
Only those who are Affiliate Members of the ISA are entitled to use the Suzuki Name, and only qualified teachers are permitted to call themselves Suzuki teachers.
Individual Associate Membership
For those who live in a country which has no National Suzuki Association, Individual Associate Membership of the ESA is available, and should be obtained by all practising Suzuki Teachers who teach in such countries.
Associate Membership of the ESA automatically gives Individual Affiliate Membership of the International Suzuki Association (ISA).
The ISA is the owner of the Suzuki Name and Trademark.
Only those who are Affiliate Members of the ISA are entitled to use the Suzuki Name, and only qualified teachers are permitted to call themselves Suzuki teachers.
In the event of a new National Suzuki Association being established, existing Individual Associate Members are required to join the new National Association and Individual Membership will no longer be available.

Individual Associate Membership Fees

Individual Membership Levels
ESA has several different levels of membership which relate to ESA examination levels. These levels apply to Individual Affiliate Members and Individual Associate Members.
A members Suzuki teachers qualified to ESA level 5
B1 members Suzuki teachers qualified to ESA levels 3 or 4
B2 members Suzuki teachers qualified to ESA levels 1 or 2
B3 members Teachers with no formal Suzuki qualification
C members All others, including parents of Suzuki students
Only A, B1 and B2 members or those with equivalent qualifications from other regions which have been validated by the ESA Board, are entitled to describe themselves as Suzuki teachers.
